The Coaching Manitoba Unit of Sport Manitoba, Canadian Sport Centre - Manitoba and the Sport Medicine and Science Council of Manitoba have partnered for the development of a provincial team program entitled the Performance Enhancement Program (PEP). The program is designed to deliver applied sport science and medicine services to Canada Games and Western Canada Games coaches. Please note this program will also be available to non-games sports based on an application process.
The PEP program will offer the following stages of service:
Stage 1 - Performance Enhancement Workshops
Identified experts working in the areas of applied sport science and sport medicine will deliver a series of non-sport specific workshops on an annual basis. Attendance is free.
Stage 2 - Sport Specific Performance Enhancement Workshops
Identified experts working in the areas of applied sport science and sport medicine will deliver a series of sport specific workshops to a recognized provincial team program on a request basis. PEP partners will cover the cost for the first 2 hours of each topic area.
Stage 3 - Performance Enhancement Team Support (PET)
A partnership will be developed with PSO's to provide dedicated sport medicine and science expertise to recognized provincial team programs. The PET team will work in collaboration with the provincial team coach to implement services in a manner consistent with the annual training plan.
